MR. JOHN H. SHERARD,	Sep. 1, 1973

Funeral services for Mr. John Holmes Sherard, 67, who died Saturday, Sept. 1, in the 
Veterans Administation Hospital following a lengthy illness, were held Sunday at 
2 p. m. in Wellman's Funeral Home Chapel, Shreveport, with the Rev. Wayne Forces,
pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating.  Burial followed in the Hosston
Cemetery.

Mr. Sherard was a native of Meridian, Miss., but had resided in this area for 60 years.
He was a retired plumber, a veteran of World War II and a member of the Nazarene
Church.

Survivors include his widow; two stepsons, Jimmy Manning, Shreveport and John Manning,
Houston; two daughters,  Mrs. Virginia McLendon, Monroe and Mrs. Emma Dennis, Shreveport
one step daughter, Mrs. Nelda Ashby of Shreveport; one sister, Carrie Reimer of Natchitoches; and 
six grandchildren.
