Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19th at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2007 in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverend Mark Strickland of Lakeview Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport, LA. He served in the U. S. Marine Corp during World War II in the Pacific Campaign. He was a refrigeration and air conditioning contractor in Shreveport for over 45 years and was owner and operator of Glenn Smith Co. Mr. Smith was an avid outdoorsman and longtime member of East Ridge Country Club. He was also a longtime member of Lakeview Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of the Board for two terms. Glenn was preceded in death by his brother, Claude. He is survived by his wife, Helen Maxwell Smith; two sons, Tommy Smith and his wife, Bonnie, and Jay Smith and his wife, Maureen; six grandchildren, Jonathon Smith, Margaret Smith, Kelly Crawford and her husband, Robert, Kristi West and her husband, John; two step-grandsons, Mathew and Tyler Williams; two great grandchildren, Brady and Maryella; his sister, Elsie Joy Ostrowski; and his sister-in-law, Millie Hawkins. Pallbearers will be Larry Shea, Ralph Butler, Jonathon Smith, Mathew Williams, John West and Robert Crawford. The honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Williams.
