Randy Brown, pastor of First Baptist Church in Lufkin, Texas officiating and Rev. Kevin Taylor assisting. Internment followed at Evans-Richie Cemetery in Vivian. Mrs. Tarver was born on November 1, 1918 in Magnolia, Ark. and died on Saturday, May 5, 2007 after a lengthy illness at her home in Mooringsport where she had been a resident since 1961. Mrs. Tarver was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Hattie Wiley; her husband Jeter Tarver; her brother, Edward Wiley; her sister, Ollie Fincher; three sons, Maurice, J. C. and John Tarver and his wife, Pat, of Mooringsport, Ray Tarver and his wife, Oleta of Mooringsport, and Marvin "Bootsye" Tarver and his wife, Robin of Mooringsport; three daughters, Martha Chriss and her huband Leroy, of Vivian, Marian Taylor, of Vivian and Mary Jackson, of Mooringsport; 24 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Tarver was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church. She loved flowers, chickens, puppies, and grandbabies. Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons.
