AIR FORCE The Homegoing Celebration for CMSGT Claduis Washington, Jr. will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1558 Buena Vista where Rev. Rothell Price will be officiating and assisted by Fr. Pusch. The body will be laid to rest at the Lake Bethlehem Baptist church Cemetery. Visitation and Rosary will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23, 1998 at St. Paul United Methodist church, 1001 Pierre Avenue (J. S. Williams Funeral Home). Cladius Washington, Jr. entered into the House of our Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at Schumpert Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Lake Charles, LA on December 8, 1938 to the late Cladius Sr. and Willie Mae Washington. He received his B. S. in Elementary Education from Grambling State University in 1962; his M. A. in guidance and counseling from Prairie View A&M University in 1971; and became a licensed professional counselor in 1992. He worked in the Caddo Parish School System from 1963 - 1997 as a teacher and counselor, retiring in 1997 after 33 years of devoted service. Additionally, he served in the U. S. Army from 1963-1965 and 26 years in the U. S. Air Force Reserve 1966-1994 where he earned the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Cladius was an active member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. CMSGT Washington's life is celebrated by his wife of 35 years, Bobbie Jean Gatterson Washington, Ed. D.; three sons, Kevin, Kalan and Cladius, III' one daughter, Candice; one daughter-in-law, Deleso Alford Washington; one granddaughter, Kalifa; two brothers, Alvin Washington and James Washington of Lake Charles; two sisters, Rosetta Girtman and Anna Lee Martin also of Lake Charles; and a host of neices, nephews, cousings, and friends. Pallbearers will be Knights of St. Peter Claver, United States Honor Guard and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
