William Miers, Beckenworth - William Miers is a native of Louisiana born 1852. 
His parents were both natives of North Carolina, By occupation his father was a
farmer.  He removed to Louisiana many years since, where he died.
The subject of this sketch received a common school education, and since
beginning business he has given his attention to farming.  In this, at present,
he is successfully engaged.  Mr. Miers was a soldier in the Civil War, having
enlisted in 1863 and served until its close.  He was married in the year 1850 to
Miss Elizabeth Pierce.  They are the parents of four children.  Both Mr. Miers
and wife are members of the Baptist church.
