Langford Notary Public NOTE: My Sonnier family lived in Jacksonville/Toomey, Calcasieu Parish, LA from the 1850's to the early 1920's. Savenia Sonnier was my great great grandfather. He was the son of Joseph Sonnier, Jr. and Marie Carmelite Boudreaux. He married his first cousin, Marguerite Anunciad Sonnier, the daughter of Charles Emile Sonnier and Caroline Carmelite Hebert. All of the above were Lafayette, Lafayette Parish, LA families. Silvain Sonnier, Sr. is a recognized DAR Patriot from Louisiana. He fought in the Opelousas Militia under Governor Bernardo de Galvez during the American Revolution. Silvain Sonnier, Sr. was the great great grandfather of Savenia Sonnier. Savenia Sonnier was born in Lafayette Parish, LA April 15, 1839. He died intestate in 1911 in Toomey, LA. His succession is dated 1922 and came about due to the family wanting to partition his land in Calcasieu Parish, LA. I think it would be wonderful if you could put Savenia Sonnier's succession on the Calcasieu Parish, LA website. I have transcribed only the first four pages as it is 31 pages long. However, these first four pages give much of the same information found in the successive pages. They also give the family relationships. My grandmother, Dora Jackson Crockett, is named in this succession as the granddaughter of Savenia Sonnier and Marguerite Anunciad Sonnier. Lee Crockett
