Quite warm & partially cloudy. Went my family to Mr. Alston's, spent a pleasant evening. 2. Cloudy with rain at night. Killed a hog out of creek gang. Eliza called at night to Madam Seve's. 4. Rain all night and most of the day. Eliza at Steve Nichols. 5. A hard freeze. 6. Fine day. Eliza came home. Killed a hog out of pen. 7. Cloudy, rain at night. 8. Wet cold day. Ed hauling his plank. 9. Rain most of the night. Wrote a letter to my Sister dated 8th & 9th. 10. A hard rain. 11. Fine day. Cutting cotton and corn stalks. 12. Hard rain most of the day. Sol took the cart to Adolph's. 13. & 14. Rain both day. 15. Rain before day 7 continued till 12 M. 16. Some frost this morning. Water up to the yard fence. 17. Fine day. Finished ________ in little crib. 2. A hard frost, and clouded up in the evening. Albert went to Adolph's wedding. 3. Cold, rain most of the day. Got a barrel of nubbins from Ed's corn. 4. The coldest day we have had this winter. James and Hy returned from the Lake, brought me a letter from my Sister. 5. Fine cold day. Hauled what new rails that were split. 6. A hard freeze. Jackson & H. killed the blk barrow got from Adolph. 7. Fine day, no frost. Eliza went with Ed to Barnes' Creek. 8. A light frost. Had a rail splitting, got about 800. 9. Cloudy and warm. I have taken no notice of the state of the weather or what has occurred, being not well. 9. A hard frost. Killed a cow, blanche I believe. Ike and Catherine came here. Quite sick. 10.
