(left blank) Age, (left blank) (Application, page 2) I, A C R Turner, a native of Florida and now a citizen of Louisiana, resident at Ten Mile in the Parish of Allen in said State of Louisiana, and who was a soldier, (sailor or marine as the case maybe) from the State of Louisiana in the Confederate States Army (or navy as the case may be) in the war between the United States and the Confederate States, do hereby apply for aid under Act 125 of the General Assembly of the State of Louisiana of 1898; and I do solemnly swear that I served for the Confederate States honorably from the day of my enlistment until the close of the civil war, (or until discharged or paroled as the case may be) as shown by my answers below, and that I remained true to the Confederate cause until the surrender and that I am now in indigent circumstances, and unable to earn a livelihood by my own labor or skill, and that I am not salaried or otherwise provided for by the State of Louisiana or by any other State or government, and am entitled to receive the benefits of said Act No. 125 of 1898, as further show by my answers to the questions below, which I swear to be true and correct: 1. TURNER, showing that he enlisted Aug 2, 1861, at New Orleans, Louisiana, for one year, that he was Born in the State of Georgia (NOTE: His application clearly states he was born in FL; his family lived in GA prior to moving to FL), was a Farmer, Post Office, Huddleston, Age 18, and single. On thirteen rolls he shows present for duty, with his company from Aug 2/61, to Mch. 1/64. Roll dated Nov 1/64, says, “Absent wounded since June 4th. 1864.” On all these rolls he shows as of Company B. On roll dated Feb. 26, 1865, he shows as present in Company A. with remarks: “Temporarily transferred from Company B. to Company A. for payment, by order Genl. Evans.” He was Paroled at Appamattox Court House, Va. as from Company B. 1st. La. Regt. April 9th 1865. Dear Sirs: With reference to the balance due on the pension of the pensioner named herein (Mrs. A. C. R. Turner, #12802), who died Sept. 23, 1935, I beg to ior you as follows: If an Administrator of the Succession of the Deceased has been appointed, this Board will pay to her the amount that is due if eh will furnish us with a certified copy of his letters of administration. If no Administrator has been appointed, the Board requires the heirs to sign an affidavit authorizing some one person to collect the amount. Blank form affidavits are furnished for the convenience of the heirs. In a case where there is only one heir, Form 101 should be used; if more than one heir, use form 103; or, if the heirs are widely scattered, use Form 103, having each heir sign a separate affidavit. When a Veteran pensioner dies and leaves a widow, the amount still due on the husband’s pension will be paid to the widow when her pension application is approved by this Board, without the necessity of obtaining affidavits from the heirs. If desired, a check for the balance that is due will be issued to the Estate of the deceased pensioner.
