Aug. 1. (Spl.) -- Mrs. Sarah Granger, life-long resident of the Vinton area, will celebrate her 90th birthday anniversary with an open house from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, at her home six miles north of Vinton. Mrs. Granger was born August 2, 1859, and was married to the late Vean Granger, October 23, 1873. She has lived at her present location for 71 years. Her original home, destroyed by fire several years ago, was replaced with an eight- room home. An active member of the Baptist church, a circle has been named after her. Present at the celebration will be the seven children of Mrs. Granger, her thirty grandchildren, fifty-six great-grandchildren and eight great-great- grandchildren. Her children are Mrs. Emma Courmier, Mrs. Elodie White, J. B. Granger, J. C. Granger, Lee Granger, Mrs. Ida Broussard and Mrs. Ada Robinson, all of Vinton. Additional Comments: Sarah Lee was the daughter of Oscar Lee and Emma Morrow. She married Joseph Vean Granger son of Jean Baptiste Granger and Lise Faulk-Farque.
