A native of Welsh, he served in the U.S. National Guard and the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired as a manager of Edgerly Rice Dryer and served as Justice of the Peace for Ward 7 for two terms. He was a charter member of Lions Club and YMBC and spent many years working with the Southwerst La. Fat Stock Show and Rodeo, 4H and FFA Boys and Girls of Southwest Louisiana. He was a past director of American Red Cross and a member of the Louisiana Farm Bureau. Servivors are his wife, Eleanor Hood Taggart; two sons, John Thomas Taggart of Sulphur and James E. Mr. Tanner died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 1997, in San Ramon. A native of Evangeline, he had lived in Silsbee and Houston, Texas, and the Vernon Parish area before moving to San Ramon 12 years ago. He was a carpenter and had been active in Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Cub Master and Scout Master, and was District Scouter of the Year for the Three Rivers Council in Silsbee in 1984. He was a life member and former Ranger of the Louisiana Lions Children's Camp in Leesville and was named Golden Staff Member at the Louisiana Lions Camp in 1983. Survivors are one son, Carlos Dean Tanner of San Ramon; two brothers, Rollie Lynn Tanner of Shreveport and Albert Gene Tanner of North Carolina; one sister, Odessa Mae Sembera of Cleburne, Texas; three grand; children; and one great-grandchild. She earned a masters from Columbia University in New York City and did post graduate work at the University of Southern California. She served as principal at Fenton Elementary School and taught at Jackson Street Elementary, W.O. Boston High, Lake Charles High, Ray D. Molo Middle School, Immaculate Heart of Mary and Sacred Heart Catholic schools. She was a member of the National Council of Teachers of English and was a past president of the Louisiana Association of Classroom Teachers of the Louisiana Education Association. She was a 58-year member of New Sunlight Baptist Church, serving in vacation Bible school, Sunday School, in the choir and the Women's Bible Class No. 1. She was also a member of Daughters of Isis Al Kadr Court 124, serving as Past Illustrious Commandress, Past Imperial Deputy of the Desert, Past Regional Directress and Honorary Past Imperial Commandress. She was a member of OES Queen of the South Chapter 14, serving as Worthy Matron and District Deputy. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and also served in Les Medames Civic Club; on the board of directors of the National Council of Christians and Jews; as a counselot for the Conprehensive Employment and Training Program; as training coordinator for the JobMatch Program; and volunteered for the American Cancer Society, Arthritis Founda tion, Crippled Children's Clinic, and IDES Youth Fraternity. Survivors include one son, George E. The Teddlies died Thursday May 1, 1997, as the result of boating accident in Calcasieu Parish. Austin Teddlie Jr. was a native of Ten Mile and grew up in Trout. A Navy veteran of World War II he served in the South Pacific. He worked in the oil fields in and around Iowa, La, and retired from Shell Oil Company as a senior operations specialist in 1986 after 27 years of service. He was a member of the Iowa Volunteer Fire Department and had served as chief before retiring. He was a member of Iowa First Baptist Church and Campers on Mission and secretary treasurer of the Pensioneers Club. Clifford Teddlie was a lifelong resident of Iowa. A graduate of Iowa High School, he was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and Campers on Mission. Austin Teddlie Jr. is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Rody Teddlie; three sons, Dennis D. A native of Lake Charles, he was a financial consultant and owner of Terrell and Associates, which he started in 1981. He started in the life insurance business in 1963, attaining CLU 1976 Chartered Life Underwriter and CHFC 1982 Chartered Financial Consultant. He bought Broker Dealer George Clarke and Assoc. in 1982; received leading sales organization 1978-present, which put him in the top 2 percent of the world, and received leading management award the last 12 years. Terrell also completed Covey Leadership School and in 1994 completed Covey Facilitator School. He had held all offices, including president, in the state and local Life Underwriters Association, and had been a member of the Estate Planning Council. He was a member of the Young Men's Business Club, Boys and Girls Villages Foundation, Ducks Unlimited and the McNeese State University Foundation, and past president of Greater Lake Charles Chamber of Commerce. He was president of American Heart Association and had started and was the first president of Chief Executive Organization. Survivors include his Wife, Renee B. A lifelong resident of Cameron Parish and a amember of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was a member of the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, a lector a CCD teacher, served on the Church Council and received the Bishop Medal for outstanding church work. She had worked for Creole Water Works, was a substitute teacher for Cameron schools, worked for the Cameron Parish Health Unit and Schlumberger and was a voting commissioner for the state of Louisiana. He a carpenter and had been a in Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Cub Master and Master, and was Dist Scouter of the Year fbr Three Rivers Council in Silsbee in 1984. He was a life member and former Ranger of Louisiana Lions Camp in 1983.. Survivors are one son, Carlos Dean Tanner of San Ramon; brothers, Rollie Lynn Tann Shreveport and Albert G Tanner of North Carolina; sister, Odessa Mae Sembera Cleburne, Texas; three gr children; and one greatgr child.
