Sept.4th 1953.His father was owner Of MATT ARMSTRONG SHOWS till the time of his death in Lamar Misouri.August 1988.He was 61 years young and passed away with complications due to diabetes.Michael had already taken over the day to day business before his fathers passing,but Matt Armstrong remained very active in the day to day seeings over the company and remained hands on till his death.Michael's mother Dortha Armstrong was hands on making Cotton Candy and confections during our own 'Contraband Days',as well as his wife Debbie{J}Smith-Armstrong over seeing the games and helping out in other aspects of the business.It was a very family oriented business.They had 5 children from previous marriages but none the less they all had their rolls in the family business.Michael is preceded in death by his father Matthew Armstrong,and survived by his wife Debbie Smith- Armstrong,5 children,Matthew M.Armstrong,Michael T.Armstrong Debra Nichole Armstrong,Christina M.Gilson and Lindsey Brooke Smith. And 3 gran~daughters,Brittany Armstrong,Maura & Baeleigh Gilson,and his mother Dortha Armstrong and a 1/2 brother & sister.His body is at Hixon Funeral Home the family will receive friends Thursday between 7~9 pm,a service on Friday at 2:00 pm.No Graveside service,Mr.Armstrong will be cremated.
