She was born July 23, 1915, in Lake Charles and was a life resident of Lake Charles prior to moving to Beaumont in 2001. She was a member of a pioneer Lake Charles family and a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Fondly known to her nieces and nephews as ˇ°Aunt Mae,ˇ± her grandchildren as ˇ°Grannyˇ± and her greatgrandchildren as ˇ°G.G.,ˇ± she was a loving wife mother, grandmother and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, eating gumbo and going to church. She was devoted to her faith and derived much happiness from it. Her greatest pleasure, however, was gathering with her family and it was in them she found the most joy. She is survived by her son, Jerry J. Burrows and wife, Uethel, of China, Texas; two granddaughters, Jaylyn Hatton and husband, Les, and Denise Clement and husband, Ernest; four greatgrandchildren, Jason and Anne Marie Hatton and Dillon and Lena Clement; and her sister, Delores Laque of Vidor, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Burrows; a son, Charles Burrows; a brother, Ed Trouard; and a sister, Audrey Hebert. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 25, in Immaculate Conception Cathedral. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary, and from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
