Mae Gayle Cron
 
Mary Ellen Gayle Cron, 88, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, in her residence following 
a short illness.
 
She was born and lived her life in Lake Charles. She was a 1934 graduate of Lake 
Charles High School and she attended Louisiana State University. She was a member of 
the Junior League of Lake Charles Inc. and the Planters League Garden Club.
 
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Al Cron of Lake Charles; one daughter, 
Gayle Cline and husband George of Lake Charles; one son, Fred T. Smith Jr. and wife 
Patti of Lake Charles; two sisters, Margie Cobb of Houston and Susan Gayle of San 
Diego; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one greatgreat-grandchild.
 
Visitation is 4-6pm today in Johnson Funeral Home. A private graveside service will 
be held at a later date.
