The Opelousas Courier (Opelousas, LA) April 12, 1862, pg. 2
A volunteer from Calcasieu, named Abram Hannegan, died on Sunday last, at Camp 
Overton, in our town, of pneumonia. This unfortunate man leaves a wife and 
seven children in necessitous circumstances.

Can we not do something for these orphans and widow?
