The Revs. Bob Colquiette and Johnny Womack will officiate. Burial will be Perkins Cemetery under the direction of Snider Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until services in the funeral home. Mr. Heard died at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 1992 in a Lake Charles hospital. A lifelong resident of DeQuincy, he was a correctional officer, retired from Louisiana Correctional Institute after 20 years. A member and deacon of Northside Baptist Church, he was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Willie Mae Heard; two sons, William L. Moses of Groves, Texas, and Truman Moses of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Lois Zimmerman of Lake Charles and Eva Joyce Bishop of Huntsville, Ala.; one sister, Betty Fern Hoosier of Alexandria; two brothers, Carl Heard of DeQuincy and Hilliard Heard of Alexandria; one halfsister, Mary Poole of Singer; one halfbrother, Allen Heard of DeQuincy; one stepsister, Billie Jean LeBleu of DeQuincy; one stepbrother, Kenneth Ray Dunn of Singer; his stepmother, Mrs. Jeanette Whatley of DeQuincy; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
