Holbrook, 72, retired grocer, died at 9 a. m. Friday at his home, 1601 Graham Street, after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Holbrook was born on October 31, 1882, and was a lifelong residence of Lake Charles. He was owner and operator of Holbrook's grocery on Graham Street until his retirement a year ago. The body was at Hixson funeral home where the time of funeral services are to be announced. The Rev. Osteen, pastor of College Park church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial will be in Orange Grove cemetery. Mr. Holbrook is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mae Holbrook; five sons, J. B., Henry, Robert, and Jerry of Lake Charles, Alfred of West Lake; three daughters, Mrs. O. L. Anderson and Mrs. Clyde Hoffpauir, Lake Charles, and Mrs. E. E. Ponder, Baton Rouge; nine grandchildren; a brother, Eddie Holbrook, Houston, Texas, and two sisters, Mrs. George O. Williams, Lake Charles, and Mrs. Hollis Harris, Melvin, Ark.
