Burial will be in Toomey Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today, May 1, in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Jackson died at 2:30 a.m. Monday in an Orange, Texas, hospital. He was a native of Johnson Bayou. He was a retired employee of American Bridge Co. Survivors include two sons, Samuel Jackson Jr. and Edward Lee Jackson, both of Vinton; two brothers, Andrew Jackson Jr. of Orange, Texas, and Arthur Jackson of Big Springs, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Clara Henry of Orange; and three grandchildren. Additional Comments: Samuel Jackson was the son of General Andrew Jackson and Emma Trahan. General Andrew Jackson was the son of James Hamilton Jackson and Eliza Haskell of Toomey, LA once known as Jacksonville, LA. Emma Trahan was the daughter of Armand Trahan and Marie Octavine Primeaux.
