Margaret Sipe Johnson died peacefully in her home in Lake Charles at 7:30 pm on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30 at University United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike McLaurin officiating. Private graveside services will follow at Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home with her six grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29 from 2 - 9 p.m. with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 6:00 p.m. and Martha Rebekah Service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Margaret was born on February 21, 1904 in Gas City, Indiana, moved to the Sulphur area in 1920 and was a graduate of Sulphur High School. In 1929 she and her late husband, O.S. Johnson, Sr. moved to Lake Charles where she has since resided. She is survived by her son, Daryl Johnson and his wife, Sue of Pittsburgh, PA; her daughter-in-law, Deidre Johnson of Lake Charles; sister, June Malarkey of Lake Charles; twelve grandchildren: Janice Parkerson and her husband, Hardy, Marilyn Wadsack and her husband, Bill, Lynn Barras and her husband, Kent, Nancy Clausen and her husband, Jon, Rick Fuselier and his wife, Florence, all of Lake Charles, Kevin Johnson of Carlyss, Stan Johnson of Austin, TX, Katherine Jackson and her husband, Greg of Midlothian, TX, Dwain Fuselier and his wife, Barbara of Luling, LA, Jeff Fuselier and his wife, Wendy of Houston, TX, Renee MacDougall and her husband, Jim of Sewickley, PA and Brett Johnson of Sao Paulo, Brazil. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren, Blaine Parkerson and his wife, Maqui, Andy Parkerson, Paul Parkerson, Billy Wadsack, Daniel Wadsack, Casey Johnson, Stephanie Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Ashton Johnson, Erin Jackson, Lauren Jackson, Brady Jackson, Melissa Schweers and her husband, Bill, Michael Barras and his wife, Sarah, Patrick Bordelon, Dillon Fuselier, Jarrett Fuselier and his wife, Tara, Kaylyn Fuselier, Brittanni Johnson, Duncan MacDougall, Keegan MacDougall, Stirling MacDougall, and Ryder MacDougall; seven great-great grandchildren, Max Parkerson, Lizzy Parkerson, Anna Claire Fuselier, Brett Schweers, Kenidie Johnson, Christopher Barras and Wyatt Barras. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She was a charter member of many organizations: University United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Justice Chapter #238 serving as treasurer for twenty-nine years, and AARP Chapter #736. She was also a member of Martha Rebekah Lodge, MM Embroidery Club, and Order of Eastern Star, Calcasieu Chapter where she served as Worthy Matron in 1942. At one time she worked as the Night Practice Supervisor for the Music Department at McNeese. She served as National President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rural Letter Carriers Association. She was predeceased by her husband, O.S. Johnson, Sr., infant son, Dale Johnson, son, O.S. Johnson, Jr., daughter, Wanda Lee Fuselier and sister, Wavelyn Guillory. The family would like to thank Mary Gallentine and Mary Zeno, her two caregivers for their love and support.
