Knapp (From Wednesday's Daily) Mrs. Inez I. Kennedy, resident of Lake Charles for about 35 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S.A. Knapp, yesterday afternoon following a long illness. She was the mother of Mrs. H.V. Rock, Mrs. S.A. Knapp and Lucien W. Kennedy. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence of S.A. Knapp 527 Pujo Street. Additional Comments: She was born Inez Isadore Higgins on November 10, 1848. She taught school in Lake Charles for many years. Acording to a tribute to her in the Lake Charles American Press dated 15 Oct 1925: "she was an earnest, active Christian, a member of the Simpson Methodist Episcopal Church in Lake Charles. She taught a young men's Bible class. She was a member of the Review Club, keeping up with her literary work in it for 30 years. She was also a Charter Member of the Lake Charles Enterprise Club, established in January 1899. She graduated on July 7, 1869 from Genesee Weslyn Seminary. She was a member of Simpson Methodist Church in Lake Charles, La. in 1888 she came to Lake Charles, LA with her husband, Lucien William Kennedy.
