Kennedy It is with much regret that the COMMERCIAL has to announce the death of so worthy a citizen as Mr. L.W. Kennedy, which sad event on Pine street last Monday evening, July 25, 1892, at 5:15 o'clock, after several weeks' sickness. Mr. Kennedy was a native of Rushville, Ind., aged 45 years, 9 months and 15 days. He was a senior member of the firm of Kennedy & Stone, contractors and builders of the Kansas City, Watkins and Gulf Railroad between Lake Charles and Alexandria, and all which work was under the supervision of Mr. Kennedy; they having completed their contract last Saturday, and the road was received on last Monday, the day if his death. Mr. Stone was in the city, and attended to the last business of the old firm. Additional Comments: L.W. Kennedy was wounded in the Civil War and it is said that he eventualy died as a result of those injuries.
