Nassar Lamartina, 83, of Lake Charles died at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, in a local care facility. Mrs. Lamartina was born July 26, 1923, in Sulphur, La. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School and had lived all of her life in the Sulphur and Lake Charles area. She was a notary public and a legal secretary in her younger years. Mrs. Lamartina was a charter member of the Eastown Home Demonstration club and was an award-winning cook. She enjoyed bowling and gardening. She prided herself in love for her family and was very well-loved by her family and extended families. Mrs. Lamartina is survived by her son, Larry Lamartina and fiancee Darlene Broussard of Lake Charles; sister, Katherine Cox of Houston; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Lamartina; parents, Toffee and Maggie Nassar; two brother, Richard Nassar Sr. and Toffee Nassar Jr.; and sister, Martha Doherty. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26 *(2007), in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. John Welch will officiate. Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery.
