Eliza Mayo ("Grandma Mayo, as she was universally called) died at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Thad Mayo, at Lake Charles, on last Sunday, aged 92 years and four months. Deceased was born on Bayou Boeuf, near Washington, and for many years lived in Opelousas, moving to Lake Charles in 1887. She was well-known by the older generation of Opelousas people, who loed her and will be grieved to learn of her demise. She leaves 47 grand children and great grandchildren, and one son, William Henry Mayo, of St. Louis, Mo. Her other children were: Thaddeus, Clauduis, Amanda, Elizabeth, Ed. Sebastian and Benjamin F.
