She was a homemaker. A native and 45-year resident of Roanoke, she lived in Lake Charles for 35 years. She established the J.C. Barman Beef Award, presented at the Southwest District Livestock Show, for her late husband. She was a charter member of the McNeese Faculty Wives Club, a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Monte (Isabel) Moore of Rogers, Ark. and Mrs. Glen (Margaret) Gentry of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Bass died at 12:50 a.m. Monday, March 2, in a Longview, Texas, hospital. A native of Shreveport, he was a graduate of Fair Park High School, Centenary College and the Chevrolet Academy for Retail Executives-Wayne State University. He had lived in Longview since 1958 and was owner of Bass Autoplex for 25 years. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Longview Bank and Trust, the Summit Club and the Texas Automobile Dealers Association, where he served two terms as vice president. He was a member of Queensboro Masonic Lodge 418, F & AM, Shreveport and Shrine Sharon Temple of Tyler. He was on the board of Good Shepherd Medical Center for 20 years, serving as president from 1970-72. He served three terms on the board of Cherokee Water Company and the board of the Cherokee Club of which he was a past president. He was on the board of the Greater Longview United Way and had previously served on the Chamber board in 1968-71 and 1973-76. He was also a member of the Jaycees, Elks Club and AARP. Additional survivors include his wife, Jane Locke Bass; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Nancy ''Toddy'') Gray and Mrs. Bruce (Carolyn) Small, both of Longview; one sister, Betty Stone of Monroe; his mother, Winnifred Bass of Longview; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Bonnette died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, in an Alexandria hospital. A native of Peason, he graduated from Leesville High School in 1946 and was a veteran of the Navy. He was a maintenance supervisor at the Vernon Correctional Facility. He was an active member of the Leesville Lions Club, was awarded Lion of the Year for 1994-1995; was a board member 1992-1993, pancake chairman 1996-1997 and 3rd vice president 1995-1996. He was a member and served as a deacon of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Doris Bonnette; one daughter, Renee Wilson of Leesville; one brother, James N. He retired in 1980 from Boilermaker Local 79 with 42 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Irene Pippin Boudreaux; one son, Robert E. Boudreaux of Dallas; two daughters, Marilyn Leger of Egan and Charlene Trick of Freemont, Ind.; one brother, Louis J. Boudreaux of Dallas; two sisters, Ora Roy and Florence Thomas, both of Eunice; and six grandchildren. BOUTTE, William E. LCAP 3/3/1998 Daly City, Calif. -- Funeral services for William E. ''Bill'' Boutte, 87, of Pacifica, Calif., were held at noon Monday, March 2, from St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mr. Boutte died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, in Daly City. He was a longtime resident of Lake Charles where he worked for Shepherd Bakery. While a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he was a 4th Degree Knight of Peter Claver, and was the oldest surviving person with that honor from Sacred Heart. He moved to California in 1964 and became a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Boutte; two sons, William Joseph and Andy Boutte; one daughter, Genevieve Boutte; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
