Vincent Sedita officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery under direction of Hammer Funeral Home. Mrs. Wheeldon died at 6:20 p.m. Friday, July 25, in a local hospital. She was a native of Breaux Bridge and had been a resident of Lake Charles for 66 years. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, which she had served as president, vice president and secretary, a member of Mary Callers, a member of Catholic Daughters of America of Immaculate Conception, served as a secretary of Immaculate Conception Altar Society, was named CDA of the year in 1956 by the Court Our Lady of the Lake 695. She served as president of WomenĄŻs Benefit Association, was a member of the St. Patrick Hospital WomenĄŻs Auxiliary, and participated in other organizations such as American Red Cross, March of Dimes, Heart Fund and American Cancer Society. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Irene Wade and Mrs. Joyce May, both of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Jeanne Marie Sliman of Gretna; one son, L.J. Wheeldon Jr. of Lake Charles; one brother, Sterling Trouard of Lake Charles, 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
