Richard: B.S., Louisiana State University; Plus 30 graduate hours, Northeast Louisiana University Mr. Edmond L. Richard has served the Louisiana public school system for the past twenty-eight years as a classroom teacher, a school principal, and superintendent of parish schools. Before coming to Caldwell Parish, he was a classroom teacher in LaSalle Parish school system for seven years and later served as an instructor for two years at the Northeast Louisiana Vocational School. He served as principal of Columbia High and Caldwell Parish High for six years and as superintendent of Caldwell Parish Schools for thirteen years. Mr. Richard is remembered as someone who was always willing to listen and was very sympathetic to all problems. He was very dedicated to his job, often foregoing pleasure and relaxation in order to attend to a school problem. In 1943-45, Mr. Richard served in the U. S. Army, First Infantry Division, European Theater of Operations, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Bronze Star for brave and heroic duty to his country. In the educational field, he was a member of the Louisiana Association of Education. He was also past president of the Fifth District Superintendents' Association, and served on the Louisiana Superintendents' Advisory Committee to the State Board of Education for the Fifth Congressional District. Some of the other fraternal and community organizations of which he is an active member are Phi Delta Kappa, Kiwanis Club, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is also a member of the Baptist Church and a 32nd Degree Mason-Shriner. WE PROUDLY DEDICATE THIS YEARBOOK TO MR. RICHARD! AND MISS CALDWELL PARISH HIGH SCHOOL Keith Thompson Through the years, Keith has been the kind of student teachers have dreamed of having in class. His school work has always had top priority. His love for activity led him into another field of endeavor - sports of all kinds, at which he has been outstanding. His initiative and dependability have made him invaluable in the organizations to which he has belonged. And, now, to round out a full personality, he has developed a delightful sense of humor. Darce Walker Darce, too, has been a joy to all who have known her. Her intensity over particular projects has been perplexing; her devotion to her friends has been remarkable; her flippancy has been exasperating; her academic work has been gratifying. She truly epitomizes the female representative of our high school.
