All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** 1980 Caldwell Parish High School Yearbook, Volume XVII DEDICATION Dr. E. L. Carroll, Sr. Dr. E. L. Carroll, Sr. was appointed to the Caldwell Parish School Board in September, 1953 to fill an unexpired term. He has been re-elected every term since that date and is currently serving his fifth term in office. During this period Dr. Carroll has served as president of the school board for three years, (1970, 1971, 1972) and has been chairman of the Executive Committee of the board since 1965, with the exception of his term as president. He served as chairman of the Building Committee during two major school consolidation and renovation projects. Through his leadership the board was able to lunch successful bond issue campaigns and utilized these funds in erecting new buildings and renovating others. Several other school systems have looked to Caldwell Parish as a model for consideration and school construction. In addition to these duties, Dr. Carroll has served on several other committees and sub-committees of the Caldwell Parish School Board. He has also been active in the Louisiana School Boards Association and the National School Boards Association. He has represented his parish and state on programs, panels and committees at both levels. Dr. Carroll has been vitally interested in every aspect of education at all levels and in each school. He has without question attended more school activities and events during his tenure in office than any other board member. He has given unselfishly of his time and energy to promote the education of the youth in this community. We proudly dedicate this yearbook to DR. E. L. CARROLL! IN APPRECIATION Deputy Hank Boyles took Homecoming pictures during daytime and nighttime ceremonies. As the '79 - '80 school year comes to a close, we, the Annual Staff of Caldwell Parish High School, again find ourselves in deep appreciation for the help and hard work shown us by the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Department. Our many thanks cannot be expressed in words alone! The high school cafeteria was used as a lab where students planned, obtained, measured, and weighed the nutritious foods used in this study. The food service personnel were very gracious and helpful throughout the study. Superior growth rates were shown in control white rats which were fed balanced, nutritious meals each day, plus milk. Irritability and malnutrition characterized the experimental animals that were fed meals lacking in basic nutrient requirements. The students concluded that the experiment was interesting, educational, and a real success.
