Webb, Jr., son of Mr. J. W. Webb of Clarks, was recently appointed a Naval Aviation Cadet and was transferred to the Naval Air Station at Pensacola, Fla., for flight training, according to an announcement from the public relations office of that station. Prior to entering the Naval service, Webb attended Louisiana State University for two and one-half years, and had previous military training in the U. S. Marine Corps for four years. He reported to the Naval Reserve Aviation Base in New Orleans early in June and successfully completed the elimination training course the first of September. Upon completion of the intensive course at the 'Annapolis of the Air', Webb will receive his Navy 'Wings of Gold' and be designed a Naval Aviation with a commission of Ensign in the Naval Reserve or a second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps Reserve, and will go on active duty.
