Headline:  Andrew Davis Died Thursday

Andrew J. Davis, 80, who was a resident of the Ward 6 community, died unexpectedly 
in a Urania hospital early last Thursday morning after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held in the Springhill Baptist Church, located west of Kelly.

Burial was made in the Pinehill Cemetery, south of Olla, under the direction of the 
Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Annie Davis, ward 6; a son, Marshall Davis, stationed 
with the U. S. Navy in San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane George of near Olla; 
and three grandchildren. 

Former State Senator Gove D. Davis of Olla and Buddy Davis, manager of CLECO for the Olla 
District are nephews.  A niece, Mrs. Annie Girod, and another nephew, John Davis, reside 
in Columbia.
