Services for Patricia Ann Word Albritton, age 64 of Columbia will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 26, 2005 at the Cross Roads Baptist Church in Grayson with Rev. Tommy Nelson and Rev. Wayne James officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Mrs. Albritton was born in Holum on February 17, 1941 to the union of Leslie Marlon and Louise Cruse Word and died Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the L.S.U. Medical Center in Shreveport after an extended illness. She was a paper carrier for the News Star for 28 years and a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father: Leslie M. Word, Sr. and her brother: Phillip Ray Word, Sr. Pat was a loving person and was wonderful to everyone she met, no matter whether it was her paper customers, her Bingo friends, her family or any animal that crossed her path. Survivors include her husband: A. Everette Albritton of Columbia, her mother: Louise Cruse Word of Columbia; her son: Mike James and a special friend Norma Jo Parkerson; her daughters: Linda James and her finacee', Harold Poole of Columbia, Connie James and her finacee': Charlie Jones of Texarkana, AR and Wanda James and her finacee': Kevin Adkins of Farmerville, her brother: Lesley M. Word, Jr. and his wife: Betty of Pasadena, TX, her sister-in-law: Shirley Faye Word of Kelly, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Paul Cruse, Shep Moore, Jimmy Cruse, Steve May and Jerry Duff. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Sunday from 9 a.m. until noon at Riser Funeral Home, Hwy 165, Columbia. Originally published June 26, 2005
