Headline: Lorene May Bell, March 12, 1923 - July 14, 2001
Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene May Bell, 77, of Grayson were 2 p.m. Tuesday, 
July 17 from the Riser Funeral Chapel in Columbia with Rev. Jeff Wyant 
officiating. Interment followed at the Hickory Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Bell, 
the daughter of the late Robert Ivy and Prim Rose Johnson May, was born on 
March 12, 1923 in the Hickory Springs Community. She died at her residence on 
July 14, 2001. She was a retired waitress, and was a member of the Hebron 
Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Odis May, Robert 
Ocie May, Robert Ivy May, Jr., and George E. May, and her sisters, infant 
sister May, Mary Mooney, Ethel Wells, Gladys Broom, Linnie West, and Cassie 
McBroom. Survivors include husband, Ronald Earl Bell of Grayson, and a host of 
nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Steve May, 
Buddy Nugent, Clint Rushing, David May, Wesley Burch and Garland Cole.


Additional Comments:
Aunt Lorrene married (1) Elmo J. ADAMS, and (2) Ronald Earl "Earl" BELL on 17 
Nov 1960 in Rayville LA. She did not have any children. Her and Uncle Earl 
were married for 41 years before lived most of their lives by the Old May 
Place, in the Hickory Springs Community, on Chester Road, a red clay road off 
H126 half-way from Grayson to Sikes LA. She just loved telling stories of her 
family, "posing" for pictures with her sister Ethel, and talking to her pet 
bird(s).
