Barber Laid to Rest, The Caldwell Watchman-Progress September 3, 1970 W. E. "Bill" Barber, 76, of West Monroe, died Thursday night at his residence after a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia, with Rev. John Gould and Dr. W. M. Causey officiating. Interment was made in Welcome Home Cemetery. Mr. Barber had resided in Columbia Heights in the Rushing Addition for several years before he moved to West Monroe. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lois Barber of West Monroe; two sons, Billy Barber and John Barber of Slidell; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Carletto and Mrs. Grace Marcus, both of Detroit, Mich.; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ezra Russell, Shorty Hindom, C. C. Parker, D. A. Shell, Norris Norwood, Jr., and Billy Whitehead.
