Julius Russell and Rev. Jeff Wyant officiating. Interment will follow in the Hebert Cemetery in Hebert. Mrs. Bailes was born in Hebert on January 21, 1943 to the union of Carl Carroll and Opal Jones Brown and died Sunday, February 22, 2004 at the St. Francis Cabrinia Hospital in Alexandria. She was co-owner of Bailes Grocery in Riverton for 26 years and served as Constable of District 1 in Caldwell Parish for 13 years. She was also a member of the Hebert United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband: Julius "Buddy" Bailes of Riverton, her sons: Jeff Bailes of Columbia and Jay Bailes and his wife: Wendy of West Monroe, her daughters: Susan Hett and her husband: Alan of Marion, Kansas and Carla Moore and her husband: Chris of Columbia, her grandchildren: Jacob Bailes, Morgan Bailes, Christen Moore, Catherine Baker, Taylor Bailes, Christine Hett, Danny Hett and Caleb Hett, her brother: Carl Brown and his wife: Helen of Columbia and her sisters: Debbie Frost and her husband: Paul of West Monroe and Virginia McLemore and her husband: Carl of Homer. Pallbearers will be Charlie Mack Rowland, Joe Carroll Bates, Kyle Guillory, Wilbur Rucker, Roy Smith and Bobby Ryan. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Ellis, Charlie Anderson, Tony Wolf, Allan Brown, Ellis Spangler, Allen McKeithen, Garland Grant and Donnie Carson. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until services at Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia.
