Interment was made in a nearby cemetery under the direction of the Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Rev. J. D. Kitchingham was in charge of the service, assisted by Rev. Cline D. Ellis, pastor of the Columbia Baptist Church. Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Eula Crain and Mrs. Gracie Whitten of Ward 6; Mrs. Fannie Newsom of Kelly; Mrs. Thelma Scribner of West Lake, Mrs. Nancy Nugent of Clarks; three sons: Mr. Sidney Dunn of Sikes, Mr. Luther Dunn of Olla and Mr. C.C. Dunn, local deputy sheriff of Columbia. She is also survived by one sister and a brother, Mrs. Maude Ewing of Chatham and Levi May of Monroe; 38 grandchildren, 57 great- grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were R.C. Crain, Rodolph Whitten, Jimmie Lane McCartney, Kenneth Dunn, Merlin Dunn and Ed Bairers. Additional Comments: Rettie was the daughter of Joseph Monroe MAY and Catherine L. SMITH. She married Sebron Gray DUNN on 21 Oct 1883 in Caldwell Parish LA.
