D. Meredith, Sr, of Grayson, died Sept. 22 at 7:50 in a Monroe clinic. Mrs Meredith had been ill for about a month and had been in the clinic three weeks. She was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs W.R. May and had lived most of her life at Grayson. Survivors are husband and five sons, Willie I. Meredith of Grayson, C.D. Meredith of Monroe, E.E. Meredith of New Orleans, Capt I.D. Meredith of Camp Plache, New Orleans, and Maj Carey Meredith, Camp Polk; a daughter, Mrs Jewell Robinson of New Orleans; four brothers, John May, Robert May, D.M. May and J.C. May; three sisters, Mrs Onie Harper and Mrs J. L. Johnson of Columbia, and Mrs E. W. Simpson of Waskom, Texas. Interment was made in the Welcome Home Cemetery under the direction of the Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.
