Obituary:  Faye Crain Varnell
December 9, 2003

Services for Faye Crain Varnell, age 51 of Grayson will be held
at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2003 from the chapel of Riser
Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Shane Duke officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery west of Columbia.
   
Mrs. Varnell was born in Columbia on September 29, 1952 to
the union of Dennis Bruer and Margie Williams Crain and died
Sunday, December 7, 2003 at her residence in Grayson.
   
She was a officer at the Caldwell Correctional Center in Grayson and 
attended Cross Roads Baptist Church.
   
Survivors include her husband: Ray Varnell of Grayson, her son:
Shannon Varnell and his wife: Kylie of Columbia, her daughters:
Pam Meredith and her husband: William of Pineville, Dee Roberts
and her husband: Damen of Clarks, her brothers: Earl Crain and his
wife: Kay of Branson, Mo., Edward Crain and his wife: Betty of Grayson, 
and Cecil Crain of Winnsboro, her sisters: Elsie Strickland and 
her husband: Robert of Palmdale, Ca., Marie Isaacs and her husband:
Dave of Simi Valley, Ca. and Helen Lewis of West Monroe, her
grandchildren: Kassidy Varnell, Kennedy Varnell, Chelsee Meredith
and Lance Roberts and her mother-in-law: Rose Varnell of Columbia.
   
Pallbearers will be Steve May, Jerry Strickland, Red Strickland, Bob
Wallace, Randy Hatten and David Varnell.
   
Honorary are Joe Tyler and Elgin McFadden.
