Cooley May Succumbs on Last Saturday Joseph Cooley May, 74, of Grayson, died early Saturday morning in an Alexandria hospital after an illness of several years. Funeral services were at 2:30 pm Sunday in the Grayson Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Roberts, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Hickory Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. A retired motor patrol operator for the state highway department, Mr May was lifelong resident of Caldwell Parish. Survivors include his widow, Mrs Nola K. May of Grayson; three daughters, Mrs R.C. Griffith of Monroe, Mrs JT. Rasbery of Alexandria, and Mrs Clifton Webb, Shreveport; six sons, Bernard May, Monroe; Herman May, Vicksburg; Earl May, Pineville, Mitchell May Shreveport, Lt Billy May, Marion, Ala., and Lawrence May, California; two brothers, Dudley and Elmo May, both of Ward nine; two isters, Mrs Aden Simpson of Springhill and Mrs Onie Harper, Bloomfield NJ; and 13 grandchildren.
