Source: The Monroe Morning World, June 6, 1962, Monroe, La. A Tribute J. D. Boyd Clarks (Special) - Funeral services for J. D. Boyd, 70 of Clarks, will be held at 3 p.m. today in the Old Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. W. A. Massey officiating, assisted by the Rev. Paul Jones. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by the Clarks Lodge 382 F and AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Mr. Boyd is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hettie W. Boyd, Clarks; a son Dawson W. Boyd, Placquemines; three brothers, Harvey Boyd, Jesse Boyd and Thomas Boyd, all of Ruston; and a sister, Mrs. Lou Burnett, Sikes. Pallbearers will be Lonnie, Tommie, Troy, T. J., Leo and Curtis Wilson. (NOTE: James Dawson Boyd was born Sept. 3, 1891 to David D. Boyd and Mary DeLoach of Winn Parish. He died on June 5, 1962. The pallbearers were all brothers of Hettie Wilson Boyd.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
