All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Obituary: Jewell Moore Duff March 13, 2004 Services for Jewell Moore Duff, age 84 of Columbia will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2004 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Clyde Grayson, Rev. Richard Smith and Rev. Allan Hatten officiating. Interment will follow in the Burroughs Garden of Memories east of Columbia. Mrs. Duff was born on November 25, 1919 in Caldwell Parish to union of Willie and Stella Bonnett Moore and died Thursday, March 11, 2004 at the Franklin Parish Medical Center in Winnsboro. Jewell Moore Duff, who was often referred to by her family as "Granny", had a devout love of God throughout her life. She demonstrated this through her many activities, not only in her church, Burroughs Pentecostal Church, but also within her community and family. Her faith in God and all his many wondrous works sustained her in both good times and bad times. She was truly a "faith-filled" woman, who tried dilligently to walk the path that God had provided her. She will be remembered as a leader and teacher in her church and community, a caretaker, great cook and as a woman who had striven to do the right thing in her life, always making God the center of it all Through the years, she taught her family these same values, the importance of a commitment to God and family. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Jimmy and Carolyn Duff, and Charles and Judy Duff, her grandsons: Brian Duff, Michael Duff and his wife: Amy, Tommy Duff and his wife: Crystal, and Nathan Duff, her granddaughter: Shelia Duff Howard and her husband: Keith, a special nephew and neice: Jerry Duff, Sr. and Neva Duff and their children: Jerry Duff, Jr. and his wife: Monica, Jamie Duff and his wife: Pam, Jeffrey Duff and Jon Duff, her five great- grandchildren, her brothers: James Moore, Huey Moore and Sherman Moore, her sisters: Margie Duff, Tina Thornton, Miriam Carr and Macie Thompson, and a host of nieces and nephews as well as wonderful friends, who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: J.B. Duff and three brothers: Pallbearers will be Jimmy Duff, Charles Duff, Brian Duff, Tommy Duff, Michael Duff and Nathan Duff.
