Legg Buried at Old Bethel J.M. Legg, 84, of near Clarks died early Friday morning in Caldwell Hospital in Columbia following a long illness. Funeral services were held at 2:30 pm Saturday at the Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia with the Rev. K.D. Mills and the Rev. Elmer Douglas officiating. Interment was made in the Old Bethel Cemetery, located four miles west of Clarks, under the direction of Riser and Son. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Josie Legg of Clarks; six daughters: Mrs. Ruby Estess of Pineville, Mrs. Pauline May of Tioga, Mrs. Opal Kemp of Monroe, Mrs. Birdie Lee Auttonberry of West Monroe, Mrs. Helen Reitzell of Grayson; and Mrs. Betty Fisher of Monroe; one step-daughter, Mrs. W.C. Huffman of Wichita, Kans; one son, R.L. Legg of Clarks, two sisters: Mrs. J.M. Calhoun of Hornbeck and Mrs. Harvey Coleman of Pitken; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
