Powe November 8, 2003 Services for Larry A. Powe, age 58 of Grayson will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 8, 2003 from the Covenant Worship Center in Columbia with Rev. Don Boyett and Rev. Buford Brady officiating. Interment will follow in the Holum Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Powe was born in Caldwell Parish on November 9, 1944 to the union of Betise Moran and Matilda Enterkin Powe and died Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. He was a retired postal clerk with the Columbia Post Office and a veteran of the Veitnam Conflict. He was also an elder at the Covenant Worship Center in Columbia. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Nick Powe. Survivors include his wife: Wyvone Lasyone Powe of Grayson, his son: Ricky Powe of Monroe, his daughter: Portia P. Cassels of Grayson, his grandchildren: Shelbi Cassels, Kelsey Cassels, Chase Cassels, Kandis Powe, Kayla Powe, Rachelle Bohn and Alexis Bohn, his brothers: Jerry Powe of Grayson and Melvin Powe of Bangladesh, and his sisters: Joann Andrews of Jena, Ethel Lee Mele and Billie Clary both of Lake Charles and Cecil Burmann of Shreveport. Pallbearers will be Benny Douglas, Charles Braddock, Marty Ernest, Thurman Lasyone, Pee Wee Beckley, Eddie Quimby, Billy Ray Ainsworth and Den Cantley. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Barnes, Mark Andrews, Doug Powe and members of the Bird Creek Hunting Club. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the Covenant Worship Center, Hwy 4 East, Columbia.
