Obituary:  Loyd C. Shipp
October 19, 2003

Services for Loyd C. Shipp, age 57 of Hebert will be held
2 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2003 at the Bethany Baptist 
Church in Hebert with Rev. Sammy Shipp officiating.  Interment 
will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.

Mr. Shipp was born in Columbia on August 28, 1946 to the
union of Alvin Lester and Bertha Duchesne Shipp and died 
Thursday, October 16, 2003 at his residence.

He was a retired tool pusher and driller with Trans Ocean
Drilling Co.  He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War having
served in the Army.
    
Survivors include his wife: Rhonda Dale Shipp, his son and
daugher-in-law: Roger and Tonya Shipp, his son: Ricky Shipp,
his granddaughters: Megan, Kaylee and Jessi all of Hebert, his
brother: Alvin Shipp of Clarks, and his sisters: Faye Harvey of
Hebert, Lucy Russell of Unica, Ms. and Sherry Shipp of Jackson,
Ms.
    
Pallbearers will be Dennis Mullenix, Marty Harvey, Darrell 
Shipp, Jimbo Emmons, Duncan Boyett and Scott Mullenix.
    
Wes Platt will serve as honorary pallbearer.
    
Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 9 p.m. and Sunday
from 9 a.m. until noon at Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165,
Columbia and from 1 p.m. until time of services at the church.
