May, 64, died Thursday at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe after a short illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Riser and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Columbia with Dr. W.M. Causey and the Rev. Julius Russell officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery near Columbia. May was a retired supervisor with the Farmer's Home Administration, a graduate of Louisiana Tech and a World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife, Vela Grimes May of Columbia, two sons, Joe W. May and Craig May, both of West Monroe; mother, Mrs. Maggie May of Monroe; four brothers, Clyde May and Leo May, both of Columbia, Aaron May of Winnsboro, Gordon May of Logansport; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Hinton and Mrs. Arvenia Bernheim, both of Monroe; and three grandchildren.
