Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Thigpen May, age 61, of Grayson were held 
October 28 at the Chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia with Rev. 
Julius Russell officiating.  Burial followed at hickory Spring Cemetery under 
the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.  Mrs. May died 
October 26 at Citizens Medical Center after a long illness.  She was a member 
of Columbia Heights Baptist Church.  Survivors include her husband, Mr. 
Woodrow May of Grayson; three daughters, Mrs. Judy McIlwain of Grayson, Mrs. 
Linda Williams of West Monroe and Mrs. Joyce Copeland of Columbia; her mother, 
Mrs. Evelyn Thigpen of West Monroe, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Earlene May and 
Mrs. Maxine May, both of West Monroe, La.; and seven grandchildren.  
Pallbearers were Steve May, Prentice Waggoner, Jr., Jack Johnston, Gary 
Franklin, Gerry McIlwain and F.L. Johnson, Jr.

Additional Comments:
Ruth was the daughter of Berry Ervin Thigpen and Evelyn Luttie Hinton.
