Funeral services for Mrs. Conelious Clark May, 65, of Columbia, were held at 
2:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 1997 at the chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home 
in Columbia with Rev. Don Boyett and Rev. Shane Duke officiating.  Interment 
followed in the Fellowship Cemetery west of Columbia.  “To be absent in the 
body is to be present with the Lord.” These words are our comfort.  Our wife, 
mother and grandmother is now with her Lord.  Conelious Clark May was born on 
June 14, 1932 in Caldwell Parish to the union of Abner and Annie Franklin 
Clark and was called home on Tuesday, September 2, 1997 at the Glenwood 
Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.  She was a school teacher for 38 
years.  She touched the lives of hundreds of children.  Teaching was her gift, 
her God-given talent, but the joy of her life was her grandchildren.  She was 
totally devoted to seeing that their every need and want was met.  She loved 
them beyond measure.  Survivors include: her faithful and devoted husband, 
Quinton L. May; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Joe Parker; her 
grandchildren, Adam, Shelly, Summer and Storey, all of Columbia; two brothers, 
LeRoy Clark of Hebert and Sherrill Clark of Monroe; and a special friend, 
Linda Carr.  She is now holding her “Little Quinton” in her arms.  She will be 
greatly missed.  It was a blessing to have known her.  Pallbearers were: Jeff 
Parker, Gary May, Ricky Hatten, Karl Bailey, Joe May and Billy Byrd.
