The Caldwell Watchman, Columbia LA, 9 Apr 1986
Funeral services for Mrs. Onie M. MAYES, age 89, of Grayson, were held Apr 2nd 
at the Chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Cockerham and Rev. 
Lavelle Crain officiating. Burial followed in Adams Cemetery under the 
direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Mrs. Mayes died Apr 1 at 
Citizen's Medical Center after a long illness. Survivors include a half-
sister, Mrs. Helen Whitlock of West Monroe and a host of nieces and nephews. 
Pallbearers were Judson McKeithen, B.F. Claunch, Hershel Peterson, James H. 
Byrd, Vercie Childress and Russell Childress. 


Additional Comments:
Onie was the daughter of Benjamin Quillie MAY & Mary Elizabeth GREGORY. She 
married (1) William Isaac Parker, and (2) John Vander "Tobe" Mayes.
