Grayson. The Revs. Jolie Bignar and Freddie Dickson were to officiate at 2 
p.m. funeral services today in the Spring Hill Baptist Church near Kelly for 
John V. Mayes, 73, of Grayson.  Burial was to be in Adams Cemetery near Kelly 
under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.  Mr. Mayes died 
Sunday morning in Caldwell Hospital after a long illness.  Survivors include 
his widow, Onie Mayes of Grayson; three brothers, Jerry Mayes and Herman 
Mayes, both of Grayson, and Dee Mayes of Urania; and two sisters, Mrs. Lige 
Smith of Winnfield and Mrs. Vivian Gamble of New Orleans. Nephews were to 
serve as pallbearers.

Additional Comments:
John was the son of Lorenza C. MAYES and Nobie HENDRIX.
