Services for Clyde N. May Sr., 85, Columbia, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, 
January 18, 1992 at Riser & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Columbia with Rev. 
Charles L. Davis and Rev. Ed Cotten officiating. Burial was in Fellowship 
Cemetery, west of Columbia, under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home 
Inc. of Columbia.  Mr. May died Thursday, January 16, 1992 at St. Francis 
Medical Center, Monroe after an extended illness.  Mr. May was a retired 
employee of the State Highway Department, a farmer, and a former Caldwell 
Parish Police Juror.  Mr. May was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 
and was preceded in death by his son, Billy Elmo May, and his grandson, 
Quinton May Jr.  Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Amanda Rogers May of 
Columbia; sons, Quinton May, Sr. of Columbia, Teddy May of West Monroe, and 
Clyde N. May Jr. of Huntington Park, California; daughters, Inez May Bailey of 
West Monroe and Jeanette "Sue" May Byrd of Bastrop; brothers, Leo May of 
Columbia, Aaron May of Winnsboro, and Gordon May of Logansport; sisters, Effie 
May Hinton of Monroe and Arvenia May Blackmon of Columbia; 9 grandchildren; 10 
great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Herman Lenard, Tommy Gist, Bruce Booth, 
J.D. Price, Jack Taylor and Joe May. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Floyd 
Jones, Rev. J.L. Foster, Ray Hatten, Johnny Stapleton, Joe Carroll Bates and 
Terry Joe McDonald.

Clyde was the son of St. Elmo Lafayette "Elmo" MAY and Inez Dottie FISHER.
