Died, in Caldwell Parish La., on Thursday morning, the 27th ult., after a lingering and painful illness of five weeks, Mrs. CLARISSA, consort of JNO. C. McDANIEL, aged 38 years 4 months and 4 days. The subject of this notice was born in Marlborough District, S.C., the 23d of Jan. 1820, and emigrated to La., in Nov. 1855, and in early life she professed religion, united with the M.E. Church, and adorned the profession she had made, up to her death. Her sufferings though great were borne with great patience, and she seemed to be perfectly resigned to the will of her Master. She was a dutifull [sic] wife, a faithful, untiring mother, and a firm and ardent friend. She has left a disconsolate husband, and children, and numerous relatives to mourn their irreparrable [sic] loss, but they sorrow not as those that have no hope, for they know that their loss is her eternal gain. Hallowed and blessed is the memory of the good.
