All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Obituary of John Robert "Bobby" May Services for John Robert "Bobby" May, age 69, of Grayson, LA, will be held Monday, September 22, 2003, from chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA, with Bro. C. B. Anderson and Rev. Floyd Duchesne officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Mr. May was born August 13, 1934, in Monroe, LA, and died September 20, 2003, in Shreveport, LA. Mr. May was a graduate of Ouachita High School and ULM, with a degree in geography, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed with the U.S. Geological Survey in Washington, D.C., as well as the Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg, MS, for many years. John was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, who loved spending time with his grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Ethen, and Randi Renee. He will always be remembered for his great love of gospel music, and his extensive knowledge of U.S. history, particularly the Civil War and World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Lois May, and his brother, Dwight May. Survivors include his wife, Delores Womack May of Grayson, LA; step-children Randy Etheridge and wife Dottie of Grayson; Jan Smith and husband Randy of Grayson; brother Ronald G. May and wife Joyce of West Monroe; Kenneth H. May and wife Alice of Monroe; sister Linda McWatters of Shreveport, LA, and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tom Grimes, Tim May, Ron May, Jr., Todd Lobrano, Keith May, and Joshua Etheridge. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and Monday from 9:00 AM until time of services, at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA.
