Headline: Ward Three Man died Saturday

Elige C. MCBROOM, age 65, died Saturday in a Shreveport hospital. He was a
resident of Ward Three, west of Kelly.  His body was brought back here and
funeral services held Wednesday at 2pm from the Hickory Springs Baptist
Church in Jackson Parish, with the Rev. A.A. Calhoun of Columbia Heights in
charge. Interment followed in the church cemetery under the direction of the
Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.  Mr. MCBROOM is survived by his widow, Mrs
Cassie MCBROOM of Kinder; four sons: Ken MCBROOM of Kinder, Robt Lee and
Ralph MCBROOM, both of the USAF; Earl MCBROOM of California, and a daughter,
Miss Mildred MCBROOM of New Orleans. He is also survived by two brothers,
Monroe MCBROOM, of West Monroe and John MCBROOM of Tullos and sisters, Mrs.
Andrew DAVIS of Ward 6, and Mrs Orline POWELL of Kelly in Ward 3.
